Mike Stader

Michael S. Stader of Evansville, was born February 11, 1942 to the late Perry and Ima Jewell (Ellis) Stader. Mike and his wife of 39 years Cheryl have 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Mike earned the rank of sergeant in the U.S. Army serving from 1960 – 1963. He served as an MP and was later transferred to the 82ndAirborne Infantry (America's Honor Guard) where he earned an honorably discharge. Mike also received a “Letter of Commendation” from Capt. Pete Dawkins (Heisman Trophy winner; Road Scholar; Medal of Honor recipient). Mike also attended the University of Evansville.

He worked for 48 years in sales and technical services at Red Spot Paint & Varnish Company, retiring in 2011. While at Red Spot, he earned his commercial, multi-engine and instrument pilots licenses. Mike flew Red Spot's corporate aircraft and logged over 14,000 hours as the pilot in command. He was Red Spot’s first regional manager and received their first ever sales excellence award. He is also a published author on chrome plating on plastics.

Mike has life memberships in the American Legion, the VFW and the Eagles. He served as post commander of the Newburgh VFW twice. He is a Kentucky Colonel, member of the Society of Plastic Engineers, the Society of Vacuum Metallizers and was the first male Girl Scout leader in Indiana.

He joined Newburgh Masonic Lodge #174 in 1982. He also belongs to the Scottish Rite; York Rite and York Rite College; Hadi Shriners; the Hadi Shrine Car Club (past president (x3); Arab Patrol; Mariners; Hospital Staff; International Shrine Yacht Club; Swords of Bunker Hill; No-Ruz Grotto; Royal Order of the Tong and Hillbilly Clan #52.

Mike is an Honorary member of the Motor Corp; Funsters; Horse Patrol; Highlanders, numerous UCO's and a Charter member and instrumental in starting the Hadi Sportsmen's Club.

Mike enjoys driving children to our hospitals for the Hospital Staff, skiing, scuba diving, classic automobiles and spending time with his family and friends.
